BEIJING, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) — On the 28th, the General Office of the Ministry of Education recently issued the Notice on doing a good job in school physical education under the current epidemic situation (hereinafter referred to as the notice), requiring that physical education teaching activities should not be stopped at will, ensure the quality of education.
The notice puts forward that under the current epidemic situation, adhering to the education concept of health first and carrying out school physical education work in a safe and orderly manner can improve students’ physical and mental health level, relieve anxiety, it is of great significance to enhance the comprehensive quality. Schools should comprehensively carry out offline teaching activities, reasonably arrange teaching progress according to students’ health status and actual learning situation, and do not stop physical education activities at will to ensure the quality of education.
The “notice” requires that schools around the country should scientifically formulate school sports work plans according to the changes of students’ physical fitness, physical strength and sports skills during the rehabilitation period of home learning and new coronavirus infection after a period of time.
The Notice proposes that physical education classroom teaching should be scientifically designed and step by step, and the difficulty requirements can be appropriately reduced according to the physical condition of students, and simple and easy exercise programs such as kicking, jogging, martial arts, aerobics and small-intensity ball games, etc., and gradually improve the learning intensity and difficulty according to the recovery of students’ body and physical fitness. School sports competitions should be arranged differently according to students’ physical recovery, and medical and health security work should be done well. It is not appropriate to organize high-intensity and high-confrontation sports competitions within two weeks after the start of school.
The “notice” requires that all regions should strengthen the organization and leadership, coordinate and arrange the local physical examination work according to the work system of provincial overall planning and city organization and implementation, and combine the proportion of new coronavirus infection among local students, the peak time of infection, the change of epidemic situation and the development of school physical education teaching should be comprehensively studied and judged, and the time, organization form, assessment items, examination methods and assignment methods of school physical education examination should be arranged scientifically. To strengthen the process assessment, the assessment items can be adjusted appropriately according to the actual situation.
The “notice” proposes that it is necessary to strengthen safety management, strengthen the guarantee mechanism, and further improve the emergency response plan.
