Four South American countries officially launched the joint bid for the 2030 World Cup

The sports minister of Uruguay Sebastian baosa said at the press conference that Uruguay held the first World Cup football match in 1930. If the World Cup in 2030 could return to the old place 100 years ago, it would be of great significance.

Argentina’s Minister of Tourism and Sports, Matthias slide door, said that football is an indispensable part of South American people’s life, and Argentina, Uruguay and Chile all have the experience of successfully hosting the World Cup, these are all good conditions for bidding for the 2030 World Cup.

Argentina and Uruguay first proposed their willingness to bid for the 2030 World Cup in 2017, and then Paraguay and Chile joined the bidding list.

The result of the bid for the 2030 World Cup will be announced at the 74th International Football League meeting in 2024.

The 2026 World Cup will be jointly held by the United States, Canada and Mexico, and the number of teams participating in the World Cup finals will reach 48.
