Suspected of serious violations of discipline
Chen Yuyuan, chairman of the Chinese Football Association, was investigated

Chen Yuyuan served as the leader of the preparatory group for the change of the Chinese Football Association in May, 2019, the chairman of the Chinese Football Association in August, 2019, and the deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Chinese Football Association in December, 2019.
The Investigation of Chen Yuyuan means that a new round of anti-corruption storm in Chinese football continues. On November 26 last year, the discipline inspection monitoring team of the General Administration of Sports and the website of the Hubei provincial discipline inspection commission issued a message saying that Li Tie, the former head coach of the Chinese national men’s football team, was under supervision investigation because he was suspected of serious violation of the law. On January 19 this year, the above two websites released news again that Liu Yi, a member of the 11th Executive Committee of China Football Association and former secretary general, was suspected of serious violation of laws and was under supervision and investigation; yong-Liang Chen, the executive deputy secretary-general of the Chinese Football Association and head of the national team management department, is being examined and investigated for serious violations of discipline and law. On August 22, 2019, Liu Yi was elected as the secretary-general of the Chinese Football Association at the first meeting of the 11th member conference of the Chinese Football Association. At the beginning of his post, he was controversial because he had been a broker. In Yong-Liang Chen, he was the general manager of the Chinese Super League and the leader of the National Olympic Working Group.
This series of problems emerged from the report of Wuhan Yangtze River Club. In 2022, the Yangtze River Club reported Li Tie’s suspicion of “economic crime. They pointed out that after being the coach of the national team, Li Tie did not “cut off all interests” with local clubs in accordance with the national team management regulations, and still received high salaries in Wuhan club. Since then, the relationship between Li Tie and the club broke down due to serious illegal incidents such as “recruiting kickbacks” and “league match fake”, while the senior management of the Chinese Football Association helped Li Tie to “ask for salary” from Wuhan club at that time “, it also violates the regulations of the Chinese Football Association and the relevant management regulations of the national team.
On January 25 this year, Wuhan Yangtze River Club announced its withdrawal from Chinese football, and mentioned in the statement that it would not make up the salary of “a coach and some players he handled, foreign aid and individual players who violated team discipline.
