Football Association: all clubs should settle all historical arrears before December 31

BEIJING, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) — On the 21st, the website of the Chinese Football Association released the notice of the Chinese Football Association on making every effort to implement the relevant policies of the 2022-season professional league (hereinafter referred to as the notice). The notice mentioned that all professional football clubs should settle all historical unpaid wages before December 31, 2022.

The notice shows that in order to further improve the work of various professional football clubs to solve the problem of unpaid wages, on July 7, 2022, the Chinese Football Association published the “supplementary notice of the Chinese Football Association on further implementing the relevant policies of professional league matches at all levels in the 2022 season” (No. 268, 2022), it is emphasized again that all professional football clubs should accurately understand the policies and regulations, strictly implement the program requirements, carefully sort out the historical situation of unpaid wages, and report the progress of resolving unpaid wages.

After the release of the above documents, most professional football clubs have completed the requirement of solving at least 70% of the back pay in the second stage. According to the relevant requirements of the Chinese Football Association’s notice on the work related to the 2022-season Chinese Super League, China League A and China League B, issued by the Chinese Football Association on April 2, 2022, [2022] 121, all professional football clubs should settle all historical arrears before December 31, 2022.

The notice requires that the authorized person of each professional football club to solve the unpaid work shall submit the latest repayment voucher to the contact person of this notice before January 6, 2023. The Chinese Football Association will carefully review the relevant materials submitted by various professional football clubs.
