More than 200 member associations of FIFA will participate in the FIFA conference, and the voting time has been set to May 17, 2024.
FIFA said that this would be the most extensive vote, adding a series of new measures in addition to the previous bidding methods. The bidding countries and regions must submit their applications before April 21, 2023, and the relevant materials of the applications should be submitted before December 8. The inspection will begin on next February, and finally three candidate countries and regions will be selected by the FIFA Council, it will be sent to the Fifa general assembly for voting; FIFA will set up a special bid evaluation team, and in addition, an independent body will be assigned to supervise the entire bidding process, at the same time, all bidding countries and regions have to set up their own institutions to review the legality of their own procedures.
FIFA believes that this brand-new bidding procedure can set standards for the future and ensure the transparency, fairness and legality of the bidding process.
