The opening battle will be held on February 2, Beijing time. The two sides will be the Egyptian Cairo national team and the Oakland City team from New Zealand.
According to the arrangement of the competition, Ma Ning will serve as the referee of the opening match, and Zhou Fei and Zhang Cheng will serve as the assistant referee. This is also the first time that a three-person referee team from China has enforced the top FIFA competition. In addition, Fu Ming will serve as the assistant video assistant referee (AVAR) of this competition, and the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) is Spanish referee Martínez.
This World Club Cup has selected 6 referee groups (3 teams) and 8 video assistant referees from 5 Intercontinental FIFA to enforce the law. Ma Ning had previously participated in the enforcement work of the 2022 Qatar World Cup, and Fu Ming served as VAR in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The four FIFA referees selected are all from China.
