According to the requirements of the Hangzhou Asian Games project setting procedure, the Yao AO Council confirmed in November 2021that there were 8 e-sports events in Hangzhou Asian Games, namely League of Legends, King Glory (Asian Games edition), PUBG Mobile (Asian Games edition), Hearthstone legend, knife Tower 2, dream Three Kingdoms 2, Street Fighter 5 and FIFA Online 4.
Hangzhou sub-committee said that e-sports is an emerging sport, and its competition requirements are different from traditional sports. In recent years, with the close cooperation and support of all parties, the organizing committee has continuously optimized the conditions required for e-sports competitions in strict accordance with relevant requirements.
The Legend of Hearthstone, as an e-sports project produced by Blizzard Entertainment Company in the United States and operated by NetEase Company in China, has not reached an agreement on the renewal due to the expiration of business cooperation between the two parties, as a result, the operation team and server of the project are terminated, and they no longer have the pre-conditions to be listed in the e-sports project of Hangzhou Asian Games.
