BEIJING, March 9 (Xinhua) (Zhang Siqi, Chen Hang) on March 8, in the departure area of “Snow Dragon” of the national snowmobile sled center, snowmobiles flew, athletes participating in the 2022-2023 national snowmobile championship are conducting official training to simulate the official competition rhythm and accumulate energy to prepare for the upcoming national events.
On March 8-14, three national events in the 2022-2023 national snowmobile championship, the 2022-2023 national steel snowmobile championship, and the 2022-2023 National Sled Championship were held in the national snowmobile sled center. The event is hosted by the Winter Sports Management Center of the State General Administration of Sports, China Snowmobile Association and China sled Association, Beijing Yanqing District Sports Bureau, Beijing Winter Sports Management Center and Beijing National Alpine Skiing Co., Ltd, 36 athletes from 13 provinces and cities including Beijing, Tianjin and Inner Mongolia will participate.
The three events are the first national car and sled professional events held in the national snowmobile sled center of Yanqing Winter Olympics area after the successful holding of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. The participating athletes come from the provincial and municipal teams. “The purpose of hosting three national-level events is to effectively improve the utilization rate of venues in the post-winter Olympics period by introducing high-end events, promote Yanqing to build an international ski resort, and comprehensively build the most beautiful winter Olympic city with ecological civilization and happiness.” Liu Qianxun, deputy director of Yanqing District Sports Bureau, said.
It is reported that there are four small items of men’s single sled, women’s single sled, double sled and sled group relay in the 2022-2023 National Sled Championship. Official training was conducted from 8th to 10th, men’s single sled and double sled events were held on 11th, and women’s single sled and sled group relay events were held on 12th.
2022-2023 the national snowmobile championship has four small items: women’s single snowmobile, women’s double snowmobile, men’s double snowmobile and men’s four snowmobile, which officially kicked off on the 10th. In the 2022-2023 season, the National Steel frame snowmobile championship has three small items: Women’s steel frame snowmobile, men’s steel frame snowmobile and mixed group, which started on the 11th. According to the schedule, official training will be conducted before the two events, and the two competitions will end on the 14th.
“The members of our referee team come from Beijing Sports University, Capital Institute of Physical Education, Harbin Institute of Physical Education and Yanqing Ji referee. All referees have experienced the test of large-scale events. From the establishment of a team of domestic technical officials of snowmobiles and steel-framed snowmobiles in 2018, the earliest site pre-certification activities began to the national events of the 2021th season, in the following international training week and the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, we participated in the organization of these competitions.” Ji Cheng, the referee of the steel snowmobile, said, “We are also honored to return to Yanqing site on the first anniversary of the successful holding of the Winter Olympics and continue to make our contribution to this event.”
During the post-winter Olympics period, Yanqing district actively planned the utilization of the post-Winter Olympics venues, continuously promoted the bidding and introduction of national and international high-level ice and snow events, and did a solid job in post-winter Olympics articles. “Yanqing undertakes this national snowmobile, steel frame snowmobile championship and the National Sled Championship, hoping to provide practical training opportunities for Yanqing’s operation guarantee team through competition training, further optimize and improve the service guarantee level of the event, and lay the foundation for the next bid to organize international ice and snow events such as snowmobile and sled World Cup.” Liu Qianchao said.
