BEIJING, March 21 (Xinhua) according to the official website of the Chinese Football Association, according to the requirements of the Asian Football Association and the overall work deployment, the Chinese Football Association will launch the 2023-2024 Asian Champions League in the near future (hereinafter referred to as the “Asian Champions League”) access work.
The Chinese Football Association issued a notice on the entry work of the Asian Champions League in the 2023-2024 season on the 21st. The notice clearly stated that according to the points and quota allocation of the member association of the Asian Football Association, the Chinese Football Association had four places in the Asian Champions League in the 2023-2024 season, that is, two places to directly participate in the group match and two places to play (or qualify).
According to the regulations of “The entry manual of the Asian Football Association Club” and the ranking of the 2022-season Super League and FA Cup, the clubs participating in the 2023-2024 season of the Asian Champions League must achieve the following competition results: (1) the champion of the Chinese Super League in the 2022 season; (2) the champion of the 2022-season FA Cup; (3) The third place in the 2022-season Chinese Super League; (4) The fourth place in the 2022-season Chinese Super League. If the team that meets the competition results fails to pass the admission review, the top 50 percent of the clubs in the 2022-season Super season ranking can be replenished in turn.
The notice made it clear that this Asian championship entry is only open to the top 9 clubs in the 2022-season Super season ranking. All relevant clubs shall submit to the Chinese Football Association the “2023-2024 Asian Champions League entry qualification application confirmation form” before March 23 to confirm whether to apply for the Asian Champions League entry qualification.
The Notification requires that the club must submit the access materials from April 1 to April 30, 2023, and the Chinese Football Association will complete the review before May 31 and submit the access list for the 2020-2024 Asian Champions League to the Asian Football Association.
