Wen Xiaoyan was born in Yiyang, Hunan province in 1997. He began to receive track and field training systematically in 2015 and entered the Rio Paralympic Games in 2016. In the Rio Paralympic Games and the Tokyo Paralympic Games, Wen Xiaoyan won 5 gold medals in track and field events, setting a new world record many times. At the 2022 Winter Paralympic Games in Beijing, Wen Xiaoyan became the torchbearer of the opening ceremony. The preparation and holding of Beijing Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympic Games have greatly promoted the development of ice and snow cause for the disabled in our country. The ice and snow sports season for the disabled in China, founded in 2016, ushered in the seventh session this year. In the past seven years, the number of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities that have carried out ice and snow sports activities for the disabled has grown from the first 14 to 31. More and more disabled people have joined the ranks of sports through more and more perfect competition platform. As the newly elected NPC deputy, Wen Xiaoyan focused on the disabled. She said: “I will pay attention to the relevant content of the participation of disabled athletes in competitive sports, and also pay attention to the participation of disabled athletes in mass sports. According to the survey data on the basic situation of the disabled with certificates in Hunan in 2022, only of the disabled participated in recreational and sports activities, and almost three quarters of the disabled did not participate in recreational and sports activities. I hope that through various measures, attract more disabled friends into the playground. At present, Wen Xiaoyan is actively preparing for the Paris Paralympic Games, hoping to get tickets as soon as possible.
